River Street Jazz Cafe Brings Live Music, Food, Entertainment to NEPA

Looking for live music, drinks, and great food? River Street Jazz Cafe has everything you need for rockin’ weekend vibes. Situated on River St. in Plains, the Jazz Cafe has a full-service bar so while you jam you can share a drink with friends. 

To celebrate our upcoming show, Bob Marley 75th Birthday Bash with Young Lion, we wanted to share a Bob Marley inspired cocktail.

Bob Marley Cocktail

If you want to jazz up your drink, you have to try this red, yellow and green Bob Marley cocktail*–served frozen or flaming!

To make the frozen version, you’ll need the following ingredients:

• For the red portion: 1 oz of light rum, 4 oz of strawberry daiquiri mix, 1 cup of ice and combine in a blender. Layer at the bottom of a tall glass.
• For the yellow portion: 1 oz of rum, 3 oz of chopped mango, 1 ½ oz of sweet and sour mix and one cup of ice combined in a blender. Pour only half of this mix on top of the red.
• For the green portion, take the other half of the yellow mixture and blend with ½ oz of blue curacao. Pour this on top of the yellow mixture. 

If you would rather a shot, try this flaming variation of the Bob Marley cocktail:

• ⅓ oz of grenadine
• ⅓ oz of rum (151 proof)
• ⅓ oz of creme de menthe

First, you’ll pour the grenadine on the bottom, followed by the creme de menthe and the rum on top. To ignite the drink, light the rum on fire and place a straw in the bottom of the shot glass and drink. Once flames enter the straw stop drinking!

*Always drink responsibly. DO NOT drink and drive.

If you’re ready to celebrate the life of the pioneer of reggae, be sure to stop by the River Street Jazz Cafe in Plains on February 7. General Admission is $5 when you order in advance from HoldMyTicket. Young Lion will be performing the music of Bob Marley with members of the George Wesley Band. The doors open at 8 p.m. and the show starts at 10 p.m. This is a 21+ show.
